Things to remember during the 4th of July

Take care of your pets during the 4th of July

Loud fireworks and crowded space are no fun for your pets, so please resist the urge to take them to festivities. Instead, keep your furry companion safe from the noise in a quiet, sheltered and escape-proof area at home.

Keep citronella candles, insect coils and oil products out of reach.

Do not put glow jewelry on your pets, or allow them to play with it. While the luminescent substance contained in these products is not highly toxic.

Make sure your pet has their collar on, in case they escape so that they can be identified. Also have a recent picture of your pet. Microchipping your pet is a great way to bring them back home if they run off or get lost.

If your pet experiences high anxiety during this time, discuss with your vet a possible sedatitive to help them out.

Let your guest know not to feed table scrapes to your pet.
